Minesweeper Classic App Reviews

I had another app for this game and it sucked. It would say a square had 3 bombs by it when it actually had 4. I havent had any problems with this one so far and I just got the paid version so hopefully nothing changes :]

Missed the old classic minesweeper.

Ive had this app for years now, cant recall any crashes or bugs. The only issue I have with it at the moment is that the numbers are no longer centered in their squares, making it painful to look at for me. This is probably due to the iOS7 UI update (great top bar change btw) and the fact Im still on an iPhone 4, so it didnt warrant the loss of a star.

Trust me, you wont be getting a better Minesweeper experience on any other app than this one right here. Minesweeper does not need fancy graphics and special features. Its a simple game, and this is a simple app: it plays Minesweeper. This app looks just like the Minesweeper on the PC, and plays just like it.

No issues, behaves exactly like classic mindsweeper should.

I love this game. But the only thing I dont like about it is it has no sound to it. I remember when I used to play it on my PC long time ago, it had sound with it. But otherwise it is a good game and fun to play.

I like the game but having to reset the level and size of the squares everyday gets to be a pain. Also using the game in an area without signal you cannot save your best times. This needs to be fixed!!!

Seriously, Ive downloaded probably over 100 different apps over the years, but this my favorite. Simple, plain, and fun just like the old Windows version. Im addicted to this game, and I play it multiple times a day on expert.

I like this app but I have found the mine to not be truly randomly placed on the board as one would expect from a minesweeper game. A bomb is always placed in the upper right hand corner unless that corner is selected first. I go so far as to place a flag on that square as my first move in all my games and I am always correct in placing a flag there. I wish it was actually random placement, but oh well.

Unresponsive touch, it seldom responds to a tap, sometimes you have to tap five or more times before it recognizes tap which is frustrating in a game thats all tapping. The screen doesnt resize automatically or well even done manually. On anything above beginner you have to scroll and swipe to access the entire field, otherwise the tiles are too small to address and the maddingly unresponsive touchscreen renders the game unfit for use.

Where is the SOUND?

It always opens on the same game. Makes me question the randomness of game selection anytime I press new game as well.

This is a waste of time and money. Opened once and it wont open again. No safe first tap. Confusing flagging icon. The flag goes from dark to light....hard to remember which is actual flagging and which is clearing a spot.

Good minesweeper game. Only issue is high scores wont update if you use the happy/sad face to start a new game. Must go to the menu to start a new game if you want best scores to register.

I paid for the full version, but after a few days it wont open anymore. I have downloaded and reinstalled it three times, but the problem persists. I am using iPad 2, with latest iOS.

Played for awhile closed it and next day it wont open.

A lot of these apps are not accurate when it comes to the number of bombs adjacent to spaces. Why are all of these apps defective in this way??? I actually paid for this app to avoid that. Big mistake! I want a refund, not because I need a dollar, but just for the principle!!!

This is a great app to play Minesweeper on, just like I used to play as a kid. There is one thing. On "custom" setting, I put the minefield size as the largest possible size available, and play with 80 mines. The slide bar for number of mines is extremely difficult to adjust, and it requires tremendous precision to get the right number of mines in custom. Is there any way this app can be updated to allow users to type in how many mines they want in custom? Otherwise, works great! :-)

I play quite often but it is frustrating when I get a high score but the app doesnt recognize it. I just got a high score on the expert setting today, but it still shows 999 as the anonymous high score. I got 973. I tried contacting the support site but no support was to be found there.

I just upgraded from the free version to get the extra sizes. However, I wish it was an in-app purchase so I could keep my high scores. Also, when I play on Expert, I cant play without zooming in, which is very inconvenient at the start of the game. Its a good app, but it needs to be updated a bit.
